Research

Research interests

  • Production and operations
  • Barium sulphate inhibition efficiency
  • Scale inhibitor evaluation - phosphonates and polymers
  • Scale inhibitor blends - synergistic studies
  • Analytical chemistry

Research

  • Static inhibition efficiency testing of scale inhibitors to establish performance/minimum inhibitor concentration (MIC).
  • Detailed study into the effects of brine Ca2+, Mg2+ and pH upon SI functionality.
  • SI consumption experiments, in which both Inhibition Efficiency (against barite) and supernatant scale inhibitor concentration are both assayed.
  • Use of Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy (ICP) for the analysis of barium and scale inhibitor in test samples.
  • Application of non-ICP analytical techniques such as Hyamine, Pinacyanol and Hach, for the analysis of selected scale inhibitors.
