Inhibitor Evaluation and Selection

Efficiency Testing

Scale inhibitor efficiency can be tested using static beaker tests for representative residence times and dynamic tube blocking tests for representative pressures and temperatures.

dynamic tube blocking tests, 18K

Dynamic Coreflooding

Reconstruction of inhibitor interaction with reservoir core at downhole conditions using laboratory coreflooding rigs. Inhibitor returns are measured, and core examined for formation damage.

Modelling

The effluent concentrations are used in SQUEEZE V to derive appropriate isotherms, which are then used in otherwise identical models of a squeeze treatment to predict field performance.

Once an inhibitor has been selected, other treatment parameters can be optimised using SQUEEZE V. These include inhibitor volumes and concentrations, pump rates, shut in times, etc.
