Our facilities

Our students and researchers have access to unique state-of-the-art facilities. These facilities can also be hired by external bodies.

• Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy

  

  With our electron microscope we can image and/or analyse virtually any substance, including wet oily and outgassing samples that cannot be examined by more conventional SEM's.

• Computing

  

  We have 5 dedicated computer labs for our MSc students and licenses for all major petroleum-related software packages. We also have 3 computing clusters which support various research projects.

• John Archer Library

  

  We have our own dedicated reference library and a full-time Information Assistant providing specialist high quality information services for staff, students and affiliates.

• Workshop

  

  Our Technical Services Section provide specialist services in design, manufacture and repair of the equipment which underpins our industry sponsored research.
